Producer Workshops

AgSTAR has a range of practical workshops tailored for producers who want to walk away with a plan that they can implement on-farm.

Farm Planning

This course focuses on developing participants knowledge and skills through five, interactive workshops and an online group coaching session. Participants will be guided through the sessions to develop their own farm plan that is focused on setting achievable goals to reach their desired outcomes. Workshops will be run on participants farms, with time spent working in a “classroom” environment and practical sessions in the field.

Pasture Legumes

This workshop will focus on the vital role of legumes in productive pastures and livestock systems with a strong focus on integration with tropical grasses. Participants will learn how to identify and assess legumes in their paddocks, understand soil nutrition and constraints for legume growth, and develop strategies for introducing and managing legumes in both existing and newly sown pastures. Practical grazing techniques to promote legume establishment and a focus paddock planning session will equip attendees with an action plan to boost pasture performance and productivity.

Farm Water Workshop

This workshop focuses on understanding and managing water resources for livestock production. Participants will learn to determine water requirements, assess water quality, and evaluate existing water availability. It will cover strategies for water storage, transportation, and supply to ensure efficient delivery to livestock. The workshop will include a hands-on practical session to apply these concepts in a real-world context.

We are currently developing further workshops, so please get in contact if you are interested in a topic that you don’t see above.
